Cookie-Minimal Approach

DevTools Hub uses minimal cookies and browser storage mechanisms. We prioritize your privacy by avoiding tracking cookies, advertising cookies, and unnecessary data collection. The cookies we use are essential for basic functionality and improving your user experience.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit them. Cookies help websites remember information about your visit, such as your preferred settings or language. They can make your next visit easier and the website more useful to you.

In addition to cookies, modern websites also use browser storage technologies like Local Storage and Session Storage, which serve similar purposes but work slightly differently than traditional cookies.

2. Types of Cookies and Storage We Use

DevTools Hub uses only essential, functional cookies and storage. We categorize them as follows:

Strictly Necessary Cookies and Storage

These are essential for the website to function properly. Without these, you wouldn't be able to use basic features of our platform.

Storage TypePurposeDuration
Theme PreferenceStores your light/dark mode preferencePersistent (until cleared)
Session StorageTemporary data for tool functionality during your sessionSession (cleared when browser closes)

Functional Storage (Local Storage)

Some tools use browser Local Storage to enhance functionality and user experience:

ToolData StoredPurpose
Notes AppYour notes contentSave notes between visits
Todo AppYour todo list itemsPersist todos between sessions
Bookmark ManagerYour saved bookmarksStore bookmarks locally
Code FormattersIndentation preferencesRemember your formatting settings

Important: All data stored in Local Storage remains on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers or accessible by us. You maintain complete control and can delete this data anytime through your browser settings.

What We DON'T Use

To protect your privacy, DevTools Hub explicitly does NOT use:

  • Advertising Cookies: No cookies for serving targeted ads
  • Tracking Cookies: No cookies that track your browsing across websites
  • Social Media Cookies: No cookies from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Analytics Cookies: No cookies that track individual user behavior patterns
  • Third-Party Marketing Cookies: No cookies from advertising networks

3. How to Manage Cookies

You have full control over cookies and browser storage. You can manage them through your browser settings:

Disable Cookies Entirely

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies entirely. However, this may affect the functionality of DevTools Hub and other websites. Here's how to manage cookies in popular browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Clear Local Storage

To clear data saved by tools like Notes App or Bookmark Manager:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
  • Safari: Develop menu → Empty Caches (or clear website data in Privacy settings)

Incognito/Private Mode

Using your browser's private/incognito mode prevents cookies and storage from persisting after you close the browser window. This means your theme preferences and any saved tool data (like notes) won't be remembered in the next session.

4. Third-Party Cookies

DevTools Hub does not intentionally set third-party cookies. However, if you use tools that fetch external data (like IP Info Fetcher or Weather Fetcher), those external services may set their own cookies according to their privacy policies. We clearly indicate which tools make external requests.

5. Cookie Consent

Since we only use strictly necessary cookies for basic functionality (not tracking or advertising), many privacy regulations (including GDPR) do not require explicit cookie consent banners. However, by using DevTools Hub, you consent to our use of essential functional cookies as described in this policy.

If you don't wish to accept these cookies, you can configure your browser to reject them, though this may limit some functionality.

6. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this cookie policy to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our services. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

7. Contact Us About Cookies

If you have questions about our use of cookies or this policy, please contact us through our contact page.
